My elementary years were the start of my sketching and painting. In high school, my interest in art began to earn recognition, winning several medals and placement awards.
My career was 'launched' with the sale of a religious artwork titled "The Sacred Heart." I was just out of high school when the piece was displayed and sold! Twelve years of commissioned artwork followed. I painted in most medias, varying the types while maintining my style.
I attended a local college and took private lessons, to learn techniques that would enhance my own style. I even sculpted artwork for a time, before returning to my favorite field of expresison, the canvas.
There were a number of years when the energy and passion I had for painting wrere necessarily directed to birthing and parenting my six children. Often my home 'studio' couldn't be entered until the last of their heads hit the pillow. I framed my work from those years, displaying them on my home's walls. May of the pieces expressed my deep respect for spiritual work.
